How to start a day in a good and happy way
How to start a day in a good and happy way
Every day is a new day and even if something was wrong yesterday, we can get it right today, so it is very important to start our day in a good way.
“Yesterday is gone. Tomorrow has not yet come. We have only today. Let us begin.” ― Mother Teresa
Personally for several years, waking up in the morning was a bit like a little trauma, mainly because the previous evening I used to go to sleep late and, of course, I was not sleeping enough.
I used to stay in bed until the last second and I became a master at being able to get ready in a few minutes, of course I jumped breakfast and most of the time I found myself out in the street and I was not even fully awake and ready to interact with the world.
Do you know that feeling too?
The time it was taking me to get ready, that was only 10-15 minutes, it was like living it in a sort of autopilot mode…
Fortunately, that belongs to my past, for several years now I have a new and better habit to start my day in a good and happy way and now I have the pleasure to share it with you, with the hope that it will help you too to improve the quality of your day.
1 – When you open your eyes take a half-smile and then give yourself a good morning wish to fully wake up and then spend a few minutes concentrating on your breathing and relaxing your body.
Why breathing? Respiration as well as being very important, just imagine what would happen if we stopped breathing, it is the connection between our body and our mind. Through our breath we can reach a calm and mental clarity. You might also like reading: The importance of proper breathing.
2 – Do not jump out of bed and start the day as if you were living in autopilot mode.
When you get out of bed and rest your feet on the ground, be aware of what you are doing, start to live the present, remember Happiness is in the present moment, the only moment we are alive. It may seem silly or obvious, but talking to yourself canl help to live the present.
Let me explain it better: say to yourself mentally what you are doing at that moment, it helps to be aware of the action that is taking place and then to live it in the present and feel alive.3 – Decide your first thought. Do not let the first thought decide the course of your day.
Why do we have to decide our first thought?
Because the thoughts create our emotions and moods.
So what can we think?
It is important to think of something that puts us in the right mood, something that makes us feel good, happy and alive.
Remember Happiness is a choice and we have the choice every morning to be Happy or not, just choosing our thoughts.
Now stop for a moment, take a pen and paper and write two or three things that make you feel good and happy by thinking about them.
Here are some suggestions: your children, your pets, the next vacation, it can be anything and it is very important they create good positive feelings.
Even a thought of gratitude can help us start the day in a positive way, but why Gratitude?
Because pausing and thinking about what we have, it creates a positive mood. We live in a society that pushes us to want more and more and we are never satisfied. It makes us not appreciate what we have and make us take a lot of things for granted, first of all, our health. Even just a small thought of gratitude for our health, a thanks because unlike many other people that are not well and in a hospital we are physically well, can help us to feel good. In case you have missed this post, I suggest you read: Gratitude is the key to Happiness.

Try Your Bests
1
Think about what you want to achieve and why. Choose goals that are meaningful to you. Imagine how your life will be different after you attain them.[1]
Sometimes you may have to set a goal that doesn’t appeal to you much, like getting a good grade in a class you don’t want to take. In a case like this, focus on how the outcome will improve your life.
In this case, reasons like "I will feel a sense of accomplishment" or "I will keep my GPA up" might help boost your motivation
2
Choose your projects carefully. To make the most of your energy and motivation, choose just a few projects that matter to you. Don’t try to work on too many things at once. If you spread yourself too thin, you’ll have a harder time giving anything 100 percent of your effort.[2]
Try to focus on no more than three goals at a time.
3
Know what you’re capable of. Doing your best is about pushing your own limits, not trying to measure up to someone else’s achievements. Be honest with yourself about where your abilities are right now. Set goals that make sense for your current skill level.[3]
For instance, if you’re new to running, don’t expect yourself to be able to run a six-minute mile right away. A better first goal would be to run a mile in under 10 minutes.
4
Adopt a growth mindset. Believe in your ability to work hard and build your skills, even if that means making mistakes sometimes. Commit to challenging yourself as you work towards your goals.[4]
The opposite of a growth mindset is a fixed mindset. Someone with a fixed mindset views their skills and abilities as inborn traits they can’t control or improve.
5
Break down your goals. Turn each goal into a series of smaller goals. Then make a list of action steps you need to take to achieve each small goal. To keep yourself motivated, create daily or weekly milestones to work towards. [5]
For example, if your overall goal is to learn a new language, you might break the goal down into steps like mastering basic greetings, comprehending the spoken language, and speaking fluently. Each of these smaller goals will have steps within that you must complete.

How to Start a Business: A Step-by-Step Guide
1. Refine your idea
If you're thinking about starting a business, you likely already have an idea of what you want to sell, or at least the market you want to enter. Do a quick search for existing companies in your chosen industry. Learn what current brand leaders are doing, and figure out how you can do it better. If you think your business can deliver something other companies don't (or deliver the same thing, but faster and cheaper), you've got a solid idea and are ready to create a business plan.
Another option is to open a franchise of an established company. The concept, brand following and business model are already in place; all you need is a good location and the means to fund your operation.
2. Write a business plan
Now that you have your idea in place, you need to ask yourself a few important questions: What is the purpose of your business? Who are you selling to? What are your end goals? How will you finance your startup costs? These questions can be answered in a well-written business plan.
A lot of mistakes are made by new businesses rushing into things without pondering these aspects of the business. You need to find your target customer base. Who is going to buy your product or service? If you can't find evidence that there’s a demand for your idea, then what would be the point?
Conducting thorough market research on your field and demographics of potential clientele is an important part of crafting a business plan. This involves conducting surveys, holding focus groups and researching SEO and public data. A guide to conducting market research can be found on our sister site Business.com.
A business plan helps you figure out where your company is going, how it will overcome any potential difficulties and what you need to sustain it. A full guide to writing your plan can be found here, and when you're ready to put pen to paper, these free templates can help.
3. Assess your finances
Starting any business has a price, so you need to determine how you're going to cover those costs. Do you have the means to fund your startup, or will you need to borrow money? If you're planning to leave your current job to focus on your business, do you have some money put away to support yourself until you start making a profit? Find out how much you're going to need.
Experts generally agree that startup businesses often fail because they run out of money too quickly before turning a profit. It's never a bad idea to overestimate the amount of startup capital you need, as it can be a while before the business begins to bring in a sustainable revenue.
If you need financial assistance, a commercial loan through a bank is a good starting point, although these are often difficult to secure. If you are unable to take out a bank loan, you can apply for a small business loan through the Small Business Administration (SBA) or an alternative lender. [See related story: Best Alternative Small Business Loans]
Startups requiring a lot more funding up front may want to consider an investor. Investors usually provide several million dollars or more to a fledgling company, with the expectation that the backers will have a hands-on role in running your business. Alternatively, you could launch an equity crowdfunding campaign to raise smaller amounts of money from multiple backers.
You can learn more about each of these capital sources and more in our guide to startup finance options.

How To Be Successful In Life
I think you’ll agree with me when I say:
Some people spend their entire lives wondering how to be successful in life, but never figure it out.
Would you be surprised to find out that the secret really comes down to four key areas?
Well, it does.
You see, personal success is achievable for anyone who practices the four areas – or keys to success as I call them.
Everyone wants personal success and to learn the keys to success. Everyone wants to have a happy, healthy life, do meaningful work, enjoy a career, and achieve financial independence. Everyone wants to make a difference in the world, to be significant, to have a positive impact on those around him or her. Everyone wants to do something wonderful with his or her life.
Over and over, I have found that the keys to success are a single piece of information, a single idea at the right time, that can change your life in the right situation. I have also learned that the great truths are simple.
If you can follow these tips, you will be able to take control of your life and achieve your goals.
We All Have One Common Goal
Luckily for most of us, personal success is not a matter of background, intelligence, or native ability. It’s not our family, friends, or contacts who enable us to do extraordinary things. Instead, the keys to success in life are our ability to get the very best out of ourselves under almost all conditions and circumstances. It is your ability to adapt and change your life.
You have within you, right now, deep reserves of potential and ability that, if properly harnessed and channeled, will enable you to accomplish extraordinary things with your life.
The Four Keys To Success
The great keys to success to change your life have always been the same.
Decide exactly what you want and where you want to go.
Set a deadline and make a plan to get there. (Remember, a goal is just a dream with a deadline.)
Take action on your plan; do something every day to move toward your goal.
Resolve in advance that you will persist until you succeed, that you will never, ever give up.
This formula is your key to success and has worked for almost everyone who has ever tried it. It will require the very most you can give and the best qualities you can develop. In developing and following these keys to personal success, you will evolve and grow to become an extraordinary person.
Learn How To Be Successful From The Experts To Change Your Life
You will not live long enough to figure it all out for yourself. And what a waste it would be to try, when you can learn from others who have gone before. In one of many great quotes, Ben Franklin said, “Men can either buy their wisdom or they can borrow it from others. The great tragedy is that most men prefer to buy it, to pay full price in terms of time and treasure.”
Your greatest goal in life and in personal success should be to acquire as many of them as possible and then use them to help you do the things you want to do and become the person you want to become.
For example:
If you want to learn how to write a book, you can follow a step-by-step process created by a bestselling author. Learn from their mistakes and benefit from their systems by following their guide to writing a book. It will save you time in the end!
Program Yourself For Personal Success
You will change your life by achieving just one important goal, you create a pattern, a template for personal success in your subconscious mind. You will change your life and be automatically directed, and driven toward repeating that success in other things that you attempt.
This is the best way to get your life back in order.
By overcoming adversity and achieving one great goal in any area, you will program yourself for success in other areas as well. In other words, you learn to succeed by succeeding. The more you achieve, the more you can achieve. Each of the keys to success, especially the first one, builds your confidence and belief that you will be successful next time and achieve ultimate personal success.
Try to leverage your momentum from an achievement in your personal success to reach a goal in your career or at school. Eventually, you will create a synergistic effect and find that success comes easier on all fronts.
Unlimited Potential
The only real limits on what you can do, have, or be are self-imposed. Once you make a clear, unequivocal decision to change your life by casting off all your mental limitations and throw your whole heart into the accomplishment of some great goal, your ultimate personal success is virtually guaranteed, as long as you don’t stop.

7 Ways to Deal With Negative Thoughts
The good news is that with dedicated practice, you can replace negative thinking patterns with thoughts that actually help. This can make a huge difference in your day-to-day happiness and comfort.
Try these 7 ways to manage (and decrease) your negative thoughts:
1. Recognize thought distortions. Our minds have clever and persistent ways of convincing us of something that isn't really true. These inaccurate thoughts reinforce negative thinking. If you can recognize them, you can learn to challenge them. Here are four common thought distortions:
Black and white thinking. Seeing everything as one way or another, without any in between.
Personalizing. Assuming you are to blame for anything that goes wrong, like thinking someone did not smile at you because you did something to upset her. (It's more likely that person is having a hard day and her mood had nothing to do with you.)
Filter thinking. Choosing to see only the negative side of a situation.
Catastrophizing. Assuming the worst possible outcome is going to happen.
2. Challenge negative thoughts. Whenever you have a distorted thought, stop and evaluate whether it is accurate. Think about how you would respond if a friend spoke about herself that way. You would probably offer a good rebuttal to his or her negative view. Apply the same logic to your own thoughts. Ask yourself if you are assuming the worst will happen or blaming yourself for something that has not gone the way you wanted. And then think about other possible outcomes or reasons that something turned out differently than you hoped.
3. Take a break from negative thoughts. It is possible to learn how to separate from negative thoughts. One way to do this is to allow yourself a certain amount of time (maybe five minutes) with the thought. Then take a break from focusing on it and move on with your day.
4. Release judgment. We all judge ourselves and others, usually unconsciously. Constantly comparing ourselves to other people or comparing our lives to some ideal breeds dissatisfaction. When you are able to let go of judgment (not easy, but possible), you will likely feel more at ease. Some ways to take a break from judgmental thoughts include recognizing your own reaction, observing it, and then letting it go. Another helpful technique is to "positive judge." When you notice you are negatively judging a person, yourself, or a situation, look for a positive quality, too.
5. Practice gratitude. Research shows that feeling grateful has a big impact on your levels of positivity and happiness. Even when you are experiencing a challenging time in your life, you can usually find things (even small things) to be grateful for. Noticing the things that are going well and making you feel happy will keep you in touch with them. Keeping a gratitude journal and writing a few things in it every day is one easy and effective way to do this.
6. Focus on your strengths. It's human nature to dwell on the negative and overlook the positive. The more you can practice focusing on your strengths and not dwelling on mistakes you've made, the easier it will be to feel positive about yourself and the direction your life is taking. If you find yourself thinking harsh thoughts about your personality or actions, take a moment to stop and think about something you like about yourself.
7. Seek out professional support if you are unable to manage your thoughts or find they are interfering with your ability to meet your daily responsibilities or enjoy life. Counseling and therapy can help you weather life changes, reduce emotional suffering and experience self-growth.
